During his office hours, Michael does not answer phone calls as doing so would disrupt his sessions  Our clinic’s front staff are aware and will either take a written message and/or transfer a client to voicemail.  Call 911 for all Emergencies.

Teletherapy Session

Teletherapy sessions are a means of 
Michael planned to offer teletherapy sessions to select clients who were unable to attend office visits due to difficulty with ambulation and serious medical conditions.  Originally, teletherapy sessions required both audio and visual connection and limited to clients with insurance companies who approve teleltherapy with our 3rd party software provider (doxy.me). With the current challenges created by the Corona Virus (Covid-19), telephony sessions options are being expanded see information the main menu options under “Corona Virus (Covid-19).”

Voicemail & Written Messages

Carroll Counseling Center – Severna Park Clinic does answer phone calls during regular business hours and will leave written messages in the clinician’s office mail box (written messages).  Generally speaking, Michael will not receive these written messages right way and may not be able to return your call until sometime the next day.  Michael does have a voicemail box into which which the front staff can transfer you during business hours and you can access after hours through the phone menu.

Voicemail Use & Limitations

When a client leaves a voice message, the message is recorded then emailed to my internal clinic email address. While voice messages often arrive in a few minutes, they can take longer.  As voice messages are sent to his clinic email, Michael may not get a message for several hours or the next business day. Consequently, he recommends clients call the clinic and leave messages with staff for most needs. Michael recommends clients use his voicemail sparingly and to ask questions or provide status updates that are not time sensitive.

Please do not use this voicemail system for appointment cancellations, schedule changes, medical or psychiatric emergencies, or crisis management.  All cancellations and schedule changes must be made through the front office staff and their voicemail (date and time are stamped).
